Who are we? We're a small group of dedicated educators, retired educators, parents and volunteers. Our mandates are... 1. To inform all parents and caregivers that their child(ren) can benefit from wearing a watch as part of their daily routine. By providing information, we hope parents and caregivers will encourage their child(ren) to wear a watch every day throughout their childhood. This helps to ensure the benefits will continue, forming good habits that will last a lifetime. 2. To provide honest information and reviews for a wide variety of child-friendly watches. Our aim is to help parents and caregivers find the right watch for their child(ren). 3. To engage with families and to share their experiences through testimonials and contributions to our photo gallery. 4. To reduce the reliance on mobile phones for time management. Phones are a huge distraction, especially when a child (or any person) just wants to know what time it is. Looking at a watch helps keep phones in pockets. That reduces phone related distraction by a significant factor. 5. To help put a watch on the wrist of any child that wants to wear one. This is particlarly true in situations where families can't afford to purchase a watch for their child(ren). We do our best to acquire child-friendly watches, often through donations and bulk purchases. We repair them, replace batteries, and distribute them to familes that have submitted a watch request on behalf of their child(ren). Please use the email link below to share your situation with us and/or submit a request. We apologize that our website remains in this very basic form at the moment. Our organization is staffed entirely by volunteers. We're working toward restoring our website as quickly as we can. Please direct all inquiries, suggestions and watch requests to help@wearawatch.org. One of our volunteers will generally respond within a day or two. Thank you. |
